E'Akoakoa - A ChinoSound NYE 2019 Luau

Dec 30 2018 12:00 pm
Jan 1 2019 10:00 pm

We've been searching long and hard for something different for New Years... While we love the warehouses of DTLA and our roots there, and the high desert with is beauty in nature, a true forest NYE adventure has not been truly explored by our community. Imagine a forest oasis, dancing under the stars to amazing tunes, then the quiet solitude of the deep forest. Friends and family close by to bring in the new year all together. then a New Years day Luau complete with Food, a Mimosa Sunrise set, and Live Music!

We'll have two nights and two days together, so no rushing in and out, and were gonna allow more RV's in for this event... There's lots of firewood at the ranch ready and seasoned, and we have a plan to cover the dance floor in case of inclement weather.
So come on. bring your onesies and lets dance under the stars!

Creating a safe and welcome space for all attendees is incredibly important at any event we do as Unicorns. We’re working with the Union staff, management, and security to insure that all of our Unicorn partygoers' safety is central to our event. No racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia or harassment of any kind will be tolerated.

Make sure to practice consent. Do not touch anyone without their permission and do not take photos of people without their permission. What is most important to us is that this space is a celebration of our beautifully diverse community in LA.

If you experience harassment of any kind at the event, do not hesitate to reach out to Union security, staff or organizers of the event and we will do our best to resolve immediately.

Working together to keep an eye on each other and the space will help this night feel supportive and comfortable for a wide range of identities.

We are the fortunate ones and we have found each other. We have a strong, creative community with values that make a diamond mine look paltry. We lift each other up, and keep each other honest. Indeed we are the lucky ones, and for one weekend a year, we make our home in a tiny little river valley in California. In this intimate setting, surrounded by friends and nature, we become the best versions of ourselves. We love, we smile, we wonder, we dance, we release. This is The Gathering. Those who know, always go.

Project Alma and Chinosound are proud to present the sixth edition of our beautiful mini-festival. Building on our past experiences, we will give our all to provide a creative space that ignites your senses and tickles your passions. Many surprises await us all…but rest assured: The Gathering VI is on the horizon!

Chinosound all around.
Friendly people who love you.
Gently flowing stream and small pool for splashing
Lots of surprises that we didn’t plan!.

Tickets no longer on sale on Eventbrite:
NOTE: We have space for a FEW people to get tickets at the door if they show up in the vehicle of a current resale ticket holder. Our limitation is parking availability.

PARKING: CARPOOL Please! We are always very tight on parking space which impacts car camping and RV parking. Those who show up in a single occupancy vehicle will be asked to pay a $10 PARKING FEE. Carpooler have the fee waived and are also immediately rewarded with treats! Yay for carpooling.

KIDS: 12 and under are free at the Gathering with an Adult, and give us a little heads up if you are bringing youngsters to help us plan. Parents are responsible for keeping tabs on their kids and making sure they are safe and in a known location.

PETS: We love 'em, but not at the Gathering. They conflict with resident pets and guests. Get a pet sitter please!

RAILROAD: Please be aware of the tracks and never get near them or cross them. Trains by come at all hours.

ChinoSound and Project Alma present: The Gathering 2016

May 13 2016 5:00 pm

THE GATHERING 2016 - Chapter IV
Once again, the days are growing long, and the festival season is upon us! It seems like a long while back that we first embarked on a different path from many other festivals: we cap it at 300 people, creating a true sense of community and togetherness that large festivals try hard to capture but often cannot. We try to create a weekend campout that doesn't require saving for months in advance to afford, and doesn't take hours to get to. And thus four years ago, the Gathering was born and still rocks on. This hidden gem of a festival provides an intimate venue for the music & community that we all love.

This is the first year that the Gathering will not benefit the Transmorphagon Burning Man Theme Camp, so we decided to stay true to our initial vision, and use the Gathering to fund a local California theme camp. This year we selected our good friends at Camp Charlie to participate in the Gathering, and be this year’s beneficiary. We’ll be having lots of Unicorn related events and fun, along with a solid showing of Camp Charlie DJ's. We’re so excited for all the connections and shenanigans that are gonna occur, from old traditions to new adventures!

This is also the last stop on the FatFinger Farewell Tour! So make sure to come out and hang with the whole Finger Clan, and wish them well on their new endeavors up North!

Stay tuned for the line up. We'll release it in the next week or so.

Tickets will be available starting Thursday April 7th on Eventbrite.
Limited amount of Early Bird $50 tix will be avail so watch for the sale announcement!
Children 12 and under admitted free with ticketed adult guardian/parent.
