The show has started!

Since the blog isn 't up and running yet i will be using the general forum to post. What is great about this is that you all can tell me how much of a jack-ass I am as you respond to my madness vomitted on the page. That is how highly I hold my writing abilities. Still, here it is in it raw form. typos and spelling errors included.

May, a new month, a fresh start from the last month and a time to reflect on what has been done and what is to be done. I love new Months. Last month was crowned by a new and completly exciting experience. Xara Delzura! First I have to say that I hate the idea of performers having to pay to perform. I know, every event has it's price to pay and the promoter has significant burdons to shoulder. I know because we put on parties ourselves. But, once I got past the idea of having to pay, I looked around and realized that Xara is a magical place when everyone contributes like they did. It was like burningman all over again. I could have been effected by the uphoria of sleep deprivation and the exhaustion of working on the stage but wow, was it beautiful!. Beyo0nd the beauty was the people... Emily from Ireland, The Santa Barbara Ninjas Brad, Cat, Hobbs and Ben, little miss Chiquita! and everyone else. You guys made the trip even more amazing! The coolest part was that around every corner was something new and genius. It totally cured my fix for burningman. Please look at the pics when they are up!

So here we are with a new month... how exciting! There is a long list of things that need to be done but if they are anything like last month then we are going to have al lot of fun before the month is through. Right off of the bat we have Touremini, a celebration of May Birthdays and our dear brother who is adventuring in another plane of existance. Then there is the huge ruckus that some ninjas are going to cause in Santa Barbara at the beginning of next month. So, my question is, what do you have planned for the next month and really, how wonderful was you last month???

So far this year, we've done Chinese New Year, Subversion, Fuente Eterno and Xara. I think we are most definitely rocking it (and effortlessly in a ninja-like fashion).

BTW, Xara falls into the same space as Burning Man, Singularity, and other places that fashion themselves as Temporary Autonomous Zones where everyone who attends is participant and we are all contributing toward establishing a vanishing utopia. In other words. Xara is a place where we all come together to share our talents and creativity.

I think it might be a good idea to look through the Xara Dulzura website again. Xara is about recreating the floralia festival where all of us in our various theme camps and stages recreate our interpretation of what Floralia would look like. In our version (Ninja Skillz, Blue Insomnia, Phoenix Projekt, Volcano Flux and Machina Candeo), there are flaming staffs and swords, beautiful fabric and light installations, sharing of everything from stories to supplies, good music, ring exchange ceremonies and uhhh... hookahs when we have the energy to set them up.

Anyway, Xara was a blast and I look forward to participating next year.
